Caitlin Chapman is the founder and creator of Caitlin Confidential, a fashion and beauty lifestyle blog. What started as a creative outlet for her passions, has now expanded into a daily chronicle of photography, writing and collaborations with brands and industry insiders, giving her readers a glimpse into her life in Los Angeles. Caitlin grew up outside of Boston and has spent the last few years living on the west coast, so Caitlin Confidential seeks to merge the experiences of both coasts.

What is your key to feeling beautiful no matter how busy you are?

Facial with Shani Darden, a core fusion class at Exhale, Mani/Pedi at Bellacures, sleep, and a hydrating facial mist!

 

What is your greatest strength?

Trusting my vision and multitasking multiple creative elements on a shoot.

 

What is your favorite Bellacures service?

Milky Smooth Mani & Pedi.

 

Do you have a go-to nail polish color?

I love classic and seasonal colors. I usually do nudes and creamy whites in spring/summer and taupes and reds in fall/winter.

 

Matching nail and toe polish colors?

Not necessarily, but I always wear a neutral on my toes.

 

What is your ideal Saturday like?

Waking up early and going to the farmers market, driving out to Malibu with my new golden retriever puppy, Theo, brunch on the ocean at Soho House Malibu, and either going out for cocktails and dinner at Sunset Tower or having friends over and cooking!

 

What is your go-to restaurant and/or bar in town?

I have so many it is hard to pick! Terroni’s for pasta and pizza, Sunset Tower for champagne and sundaes, Madeo for special occasions, and Mercado for happy hour!

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation, Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Pencil in Bronzed Garnet, It Cosmetics Liner in Buff Nude, IGK Rich Kid Coconut Hair Gel, and Resurface Retinol Reform by Shani Darden. I could go on and on…

 

Your hair guru?

Chase Kusero at IGK Salon in Los Angeles. He is my hair god and very good friend! He does perfect natural color.

 

Favorite hair style?

Effortless, undone waves.

 

Best way to stay youthful looking?

Sleep, Massage, Exfoliating with a chemical exfoliant such as Cane & Austin Glycolic Pads.

 

Who is your style icon?

Rosie Huntington Whiteley. She always gets it right in terms of makeup, hair, and clothes.

 

Favorite clothing designers?

My go-to’s are Isabel Marant, AG Jeans, Saint Laurent, Reformation, Madewell, and Zara.

 

Your go-to outfit for work is….

A cozy sweater, a pair of AG Jeans, my well loved Isabel Marant suede booties, Ray Ban aviators, and an oversized tote!

 

Your go-to outfit for weekend is…

A vintage rock T-shirt, leather skirt, and strappy sandals.

 

Favorite item in your closet?

A dove gray Saint Laurent bag.

 

Who has the best coffee in LA?

I like Primo Passo on the West side.

 

What is your favorite type of dessert?

A fruit crisp like apple or peach with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

 

Favorite SNL skit of all time?

Gap Girls or Down by the River. But I am biased, because I worked with and am friends with those guys, and they are even funnier in real life.

 

Buy a cake or make one?

Make! I recently made one on my blog, Vanilla Buttercream Strawberry Cake. It’s so much easier than people think, plus tastier!

 

Do you have a nickname?

CC, Cait, Conf, and Cranks- I have no idea why 🙂

 

TV show you can binge watch?

The Crown, Chef’s Table, Divorce, and Big Little Lies.

 

Who do you admire most?

My Mother and my sister, my two biggest influences and confidantes.
